Export Trello Data to CSV
Trello boards can contain cards, lists, members, labels, comments, checklists, and activity history. Exporting that data gives you a backup and makes
it easier to analyze project work outside Trello.
Fast path: Trello connector (ready now)
You can now import Trello data directly from a board URL or API endpoint without first downloading a JSON file.
- Open JSON to CSV.
- Click Connect Data Source.
- Select Trello Board Export.
- Paste either a board URL such as
https://trello.com/b/BOARDID/board-name or a Trello API URL.
- Click Import from Trello, then download the CSV output.
For public boards, a board URL is enough. For private boards, use a Trello API URL that includes your API key and token.
Export options in Trello
Trello supports board exports from the board menu. Raw JSON exports are available for board data, while CSV export depends on the Trello plan and export
option you use. If you receive JSON and need spreadsheet analysis, convert the JSON to CSV with Data.Page.
Alternative: convert a downloaded Trello JSON export
- Open the Trello board and use Trello's export option to download the board data.
- Keep the original export as your backup copy.
- Upload the JSON file to JSON to CSV.
- Download the CSV and review cards, lists, labels, dates, and other fields in your spreadsheet.
Why convert Trello JSON?
- Search and filter board history locally
- Create reports across lists, labels, members, and due dates
- Prepare data for a database, CRM, or BI tool
- Keep a readable archive for audits or project handovers
Things to check after conversion
- Comments and activity history may appear as repeated child records
- Archived cards and attachments may depend on the export option used
- Large boards may be easier to review as several CSV files instead of one wide table
